A couple of months ago I wrote a post about the California drought, August 18 specifically. In it I wrote how long the drought would last and what our next 2 winters would be like. My post says that the drought will continue at least until January 2018. We Californians know we have long periods of drought. Better planning is needed for the state to prepare for extreme water shortage.
This week I read an online article on Patch.com regarding an official weather outlook for this coming winter 2016/17 from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Here is one quote from the article “the latest winter outlook for California and the nation, predicting that the drought is expected to persist yet another year – and even expand to our neighbors.” Full article here
These conditions can be predicted further ahead than 2 months, even a year in advance. Imagine if our state planned for a drought before it even happened…. woa! What a concept.
